|MLB FRANCHISE LEAGUE|
The MLB Franchise League (MLBFL) will conduct Season 2 at Fantrax and will be sponsored by Webpage Creations with their own league webpage on the Internet for years to come. The MLBFL is a 16-team, 4-division, 10 keeper player franchise name league where team owners select available MLB franchise name team with selecting 10 players from that franchise team locked 3 days before the live draft. All players not selected keeper players are entered into the player pool for the draft. The league 'Golden Rule' for the season states that all team owners must have a minimum of 10 players (active, reserve, InjRes) of their MLB franchise team on roster at all times.
The MLBFL live draft is scheduled for Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 6:30 pm (est) with fantrax setting the live draft order with each team selecting 14 players to fill their roster of 24 total players.
The MLBFL season schedule has each team playing 4 sets of divisional round robin matchups (12 games) during Game period 1-3, 8-10, 14-16 & 21-23 and a total of 11 outer divisional matchups during game period 4-7, 11-13 & 17-20 in playing 1-game against 11 of 12 outer divisional opponents.
The MLBFL playoffs consist of 2 brackets with the top 8 seeded teams playing for the MLBFL Championship and the bottom 8 teams playing for the MLBFL Bottom Tier Championship.
The only changes in 2016 with scoring is with the Hitters where Game Winning RBI (GWRBI) by a player will be worth +3 fp up from +1 fp in 2015. The St. Louis Cardinals lead the league in 2015 having 88 GWRBI while the worst team was New York Mets having 57 GWRBI. Also added strike outs (SO) - 1 fp and hits (H) + 1 fp to boost hitting statistics.
This league will continue to be a pitching league as in 2015 the top Hitting team was Toronto Blue Jays racking up 4,291 fp while Miami Marlins lead the league in Pitching with a league total 7,096 fp.
A Key Strategy: pitching can make or break a team game period. If a starting pitcher performs a complete game shutout with lots of strike outs will be worth many fantasy points; if a pitcher gets clobbered early or in one inning will result in minus fantasy points.
