NHL FRANCHISE LEAGUE

Welcome to Season 2 of the NHL Franchise League (NHLFL) at fantrax sponsored by Webpage Creations with their own league webpage on the Internet for years to come.

The NHLFL fantasy is a franchise league where the team owners has a franchise NHL team name consisting of one (1) from the Eastern Conference and one (1) from the Western Conference.  The main objective to the league is before the live draft each team owner must select 8-pre-draft keeper players, 4 each from their Eastern & Western franchise NHL teams.  All players not selected as keeper players will then go into the player pool for the draft.  Each team owner must keep 4 players from each NHL franchise on roster (active, bench, InjRes) throughout the course of the campaign (the NHLFL Golden Rule).

The live draft is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 8:30 p.m. (ET) with the keeper lock date set for Friday, October 2, 2015.  If one or more of the team owner's players are traded to another NHL team the team owner retains ownership and is required to make sure he/she still has 4 players from each of their franchise NHL team names on their roster.  Trading deadline set for Monday, February 14, 2016.

The league has 12 teams and is made up of 3 divisions, Atlantic, Superior and Pacific.  Each team will play 24 games for the regular season including 4 divisional round robins and 12 games against opponents of other divisions in game period 1-3, 7-9,13-15 and 19-21 facing 4 non-divisional teams twice and 4 only 1-time.

The playoffs will include the 3 divisional champions and 5 wildcard rated #1 thru #8 with the playoffs to begin week #24 with champion of the NHLFL crowned on Sunday, April 10 , 2016.

This league is set up for standard scoring, head to head points, with daily lineup changes, and with each game lasting Monday thru Sunday, except Game 1 lasting 10 days to begin the season, Game 15 lasting 3 days with All-Star Break and Game 26 (championship) to last 6 days and a strong schedule of games to end the NHL regular season on Saturday, April 9, 2016.

Changes in scoring for Season 2 include additions Power Play Goals +1 and Power Play Assists +1.
